I am a homebirth midwife practicing authentic traditional midwifery. I have been helping babies arrive peacefully onto the planet for over 22 years. My passion for mothers and babies extends to developing countries. I lived in Guatamala and ran a waterbirth center for 3 years. I also lived in Ghana, West Africa for a year working on a maternal/infant health project in a small village outside the capital where women had little or no affordable care. My son and I traveled to Southeast Asia after the 2004 tsunami to do humanitarian aid. We spent 3 months in Thailand and Sumatra working on various projects, but my primary goal was giving health care to those in need. I work periodically with the African Birth Collective as a preceptor on trips to Senegal teaching midwifery students in clinics in a large fishing village. We also bring much needed medical supplies. I am mother to 1 son, born peacefully at home into my hands.
